Scope of Work
This Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) covers the typical activities involved in the removal of an existing bathroom suite and the installation of a new one in a domestic or commercial property. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Site Preparation: Establishing safe working areas, protecting existing finishes, and setting up welfare facilities.
- Isolation of Services: Safely isolating water and electrical supplies to the bathroom area.
- Demolition and Removal: Careful dismantling and removal of existing sanitaryware, tiling, flooring, and associated pipework/wiring.
- First Fix Plumbing and Electrics: Installation of new pipework, waste systems, and electrical wiring within walls and floors, ready for plastering/boarding.
- Wall and Floor Preparation: Plastering, plasterboarding, levelling floors, and waterproofing as required.
- Tiling: Application of wall and floor tiles, including cutting and grouting.
- Second Fix Plumbing and Electrics: Installation of new sanitaryware (toilet, basin, bath, shower), taps, shower mixers, heated towel rails, and electrical accessories (lights, shaver sockets, extractor fans).
