Scope of Work

This RAMS covers the typical activities undertaken by an HVAC Engineer, including but not limited to:

  • Installation: Positioning, securing, connecting, and commissioning HVAC equipment such as air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, split systems, chillers, boilers, ductwork, and associated pipework and controls.
  • Maintenance: Routine servicing, inspection, cleaning, filter changes, belt replacements, lubrication, and performance checks of HVAC plant and systems. This includes working on electrical components, refrigerant circuits, and mechanical parts.
  • Repair and Fault Finding: Diagnosing and rectifying faults, replacing defective components (e.g., compressors, fans, motors, control boards), leak detection and repair, and system re-commissioning.
  • System Decommissioning: Safe removal of old HVAC equipment, including refrigerant recovery and disposal.
  • Associated Tasks: Manual handling of equipment, working at height (e.g., on roofs, access platforms, ladders), electrical isolation and testing, hot works (e.g., brazing), and working with various refrigerants and cleaning chemicals.
